Fluorescence in the Diagnosis of Dental Tissue
Abstract
An experimental method for obtaining fluorescence of the dental tissue is described. A comparative analysis for the behavior of the tissue fluorescence, both, healthy or intact enamel and carious samples is presented; the comparison of the obtained results with the ones described in the literature is done. Optical methods for the detection of carious lesions have the advantage of being minimally invasive. For this reason, induced fluorescence with a blue light to detect the presence of the Streptococcus in the oral cavity is proposed as an identifier method for find initial caries in dentistry in our country.
