Stationary Waves in Compressible Liquids

Abstract

The radial dependence of stationary waves of pressure and velocity are computed in a simple model for small amplitude spherical waves in an ideal compressible fluid under oscillatory boundary conditions. The eigenfrequencies are determined and the frequency spectrum is analyzed. This problem is discussed due to its relation with bubble dynamics and sonoluminescence.
