Sensitized Solar Cell with Double TiO2 Nanocrystalline Layer
Abstract
A double TiO2 layer structure is proposed for use in dye sensitized solar cells (DSSC). Comparison is made with a traditional DSSC with one porous-nanocrystalline layer. A dense and compact thin film, in contact with the conducting glass, is deposited using chemical bath deposition activated with microwaves (MW-CBD). A ruthenium organometallic compound was used for sensitization. Volt-amperic characteristics and external quantum efficiency are analyzed. Value of series resistance Rs for the double layer solar cell is significantly reduced with respect to Rs value for single layer structure.
