Abstract

In this work the main properties of different kind of energies are presented; some aspects related with existing energy classifications are clarified as well. Importance is conferred to the property of energy of being conserved in natural processes and also to the existence of only three types of interactions in nature: gravitational, electro- weak and nuclear. Some definitions of energy are analyzed to help the reader to identify what is and what is not an energy. Lastly, advances expected in the future in connection with the topic are evaluated.
