Abstract

A simple and efficient translational and rotational invariant digital system to classify diatoms image is presented. The system uses the modulus of the Fourier transform, intensity profiles and the standard correlation between the intensity profiles of the target and the image problem (image to identify). The system was analyzed using a set of eight similar images in gray-scale of diatoms; the confidence level of the system is at least 100%.
